“May all beings be well, happy, calm and peaceful.”

Located in Clearwater, Florida, the main objective of the Dhamma Wheel Meditation Society is to make available the 2,500 year old teachings and meditation practices of the Buddha to the west coast of Florida.

Here you will find information about DWMS, our resident monk, Bhante Dhammawansha, our library, some of the etiquette involved with monks and temples, basic information about Buddhism as well as more specific information about our classes and events.  In addition,  please come back to check out our media section that includes a growing collection of media files, vegetarian recipes, and links that will hopefully be useful to your spiritual journey or simply to your curiosity ... EHIPASSIKO!

Above all, know that all are welcome to join us. If you have any questions feel free to ask any member for assistance. You may also direct inquiries to our contact page.

“In the spiritual realm, India gave us Buddhism, the first major religion to stress tolerance and nonviolence, the only major religion to spread far and wide without conquest, and arguably the major religion whose founding doctrines (unembellished by later additions) most readily survive the modifying force of modern science.”

--Robert Wright, NonZero: The Logic of Human Destiny. p.171

A New Buddha Altar. There are a few details to work out such as air conditioning, new carpeting and lighting.  However, the monks’ residence has a brand new altar and meditation space thanks to the donation of labor, materials, and money by its supporters.  We invite you to see the new space firsthand.  In the meantime, click here for photos.
